The Schoharie Library is one of the host sites for the SALT (Schoharie Area Long Term) Chalk Dream Boards. Please stop in and, as the instruction sheet says:
‘… use this space to express your dreams as they relate to your life in Schoharie County. This community art project is meant to be thought-provoking and enjoyable. We want you to dream big and share with each other what you desire for the future of this wonderful region. On Sunday August 28 at the anniversary commemorative event (from 1-3 @ the Timothy Murphy Park in Middleburgh), SALT will bring together all the Chalk Dream Boards that are now spread around Schoharie County.’
Due to schedule conflicts, there will be no chess club meeting tonight.
The Mohawk Valley Library System (MVLS) provides for public library services for the 14 chartered public libraries in Fulton, Montgomery, Schenectady and Schoharie Counties. It is governed by a 13 member Board of Trustees representing the four counties, EXCEPT … there are 3 empty slots that need to be filled with people from Schoharie County.
The MVLS building is on Duanesburg Rd. in Rotterdam (on Rt. 7, very close to the end of I-88) and Board meetings are held once a month at 9:30am. If you would like to serve your Library and your community, and think this might be a good fit for you, please contact any of the local public library directors, or call MVLS at 518-355-2010.

Got enough now.
A wonderful patron brought in a year’s worth of aluminum pull tabs yesterday, modeled here by my granddaughter. A reminder to save pull tabs (soda, beer, energy drinks, soup, cat food, etc.) – as long as they don’t stick to a magnet. They benefit the Shriners by helping support the vans the volunteer drivers use to take patients and their families to the Shriners hospitals in Boston and Springfield, MA. You don’t even have to string them like this gentleman did!
